Key Components of the Student Performance Tracking Mechanism and Monitoring Systems:
Continuous Assessment (CA): CAs are one of the crucial components of the Student Performance Tracking Mechanism and Monitoring System. It involves regular evaluations to monitor student progress, identify areas of improvement and knowledge gaps, reduce stress, and provide timely and constructive feedback. To achieve these goals, various types of continuous assessments are employed regularly, such as project-based assessments, assignments, presentations, and class tests.
Attendance Monitoring: Attendance Monitoring is a vital component of the Student Performance Tracking Mechanism and Monitoring System ensuring students' regular participation and engagement. By tracking attendance, educators identify students’ patterns of absenteeism and disengagement, ultimately impacting academic success. It also encourages regular attendance and punctuality, monitoring student engagement, identifying students requiring support, and improving overall academic performance using an automated attendance system.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): The Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is an important performance tracking component used to evaluate a student's overall academic performance across semesters. It provides a comprehensive picture of a student's academic achievements, helping identify areas of excellence and improvement.
Counseling and Mentoring: Each freshman student is assigned a mentor dedicated to their academic and mental well-being. The mentor is a Faculty/ Staff member who remains the first point of contact of a student in the university till they complete their program. The student has a mandatory meeting scheduled with a mentor every month based on the predesigned agendas. In these meetings, the mentor and the mentee discuss various topics such as the mentee’s academic performance, attendance, career aspirations, or any other concern the mentee wants to address. The mentor is the first contact that the mentee has for any kind of academic support. All the mentor meetings are digitally recorded on the University Management System and displayed on the mentor dashboard.
