Lovely Professional University (LPU) is unwavering in its commitment to provide equal opportunities to access and participate in academic and co-curricular programs for students as well as equal opportunities for employment and career growth for the employees as detailed in Non-Discrimination Against Women and Anti Sexual Harassment policy. The following plan specifically addresses the inclusion and participation of women , with the aim of eliminating any gender-based disparities.

Our Guiding Principles
At LPU, our commitment to gender equity has been deeply ingrained in our philosophy and operations, aligning with the visionary perspective of our leadership. We are dedicated to ensuring that every female student realizes her full potential through active and complete participation. Our resolve is to identify and remove any barriers that may hinder our student community on these fronts.

Consequently, we have consistently witnessed high levels of women's access and participation in LPU's programs. We remain resolute in preserving these achievements and have implemented several mechanisms to uphold these principles.

Assessment
Admissions at LPU are solely based on applicants' performance in competitive exams such as the Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST), CAT, MAT, NEET, JEE among others.

Monitoring and Action Plan
LPU has established a series of procedures and processes to diligently and routinely monitor the access and participation of women throughout their academic journey. We conduct regular assessments of metrics and outcomes to maintain current levels of success and address any inherent inequalities in access and participation from an early stage.

  • Inclusivity Assessment: We regularly evaluate data related to the access and participation of women at every stage of a student's journey. This analysis identifies potential disparities and obstacles in the application and participation process for women, and we work on addressing these challenges.
  • Campus-Wide Needs Assessment: Annually, we conduct a comprehensive needs assessment and vulnerability mapping on a campus-wide scale. This assessment helps us track vulnerabilities that might affect both genders in achieving their full personal and academic potential.
  • School and Departmental Monitoring: Each school and department actively monitors admission and retention outcomes, ensuring a fair and equal opportunity for all students.
  • Support for Female Research Scholars : Female Ph.D. students undergoing maternity period have the option to avail Term off and resume the research work, later on.
  • Child Care Services: On-campus child care services are available for female students who have children, making it easier for them to pursue their education.
  • Gender-Sensitive Mentoring Programs: Our mentoring programs are designed to prepare students for leadership positions and further academic pursuits. These programs also include mentoring for networking and future study opportunities, ensuring gender sensitivity throughout.
  • Gender Representation: We strive to maintain gender diversity in classroom opportunities, extracurricular leadership roles, volunteer positions, and selection processes, fostering an inclusive and equal environment for all.
