As we navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving world, our institutional commitment stands as a beacon of hope and progress. This report encapsulates LPU’s multifaceted approach to addressing gender disparities, showcasing initiatives that not only challenge societal norms but also foster an inclusive environment for all gender identities.
From comprehensive gender sensitization programs to targeted empowerment initiatives, LPU has made significant strides in combating discrimination and promoting equality in leadership and public life. The university's innovative projects—such as GENDER and SAKSHAM—illustrate its dedication to creating safe spaces and equitable opportunities for marginalized groups. Furthermore, the report highlights the remarkable achievements of female students and alumni, who have excelled in various fields, breaking barriers and setting new standards of excellence.

Gender Equity and University Management System

LPU is dedicated to reducing the gender gap in education and advancing gender equity through ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of its mechanisms. The University has established a comprehensive and integrated University Management System (UMS), enabling students, parents, and teachers to monitor student performance and progress in real-time. UMS facilitates all academic, administrative, and student services across the university. Clearly defined, documented, and implemented policies are fundamental to these initiatives, providing clarity and ensuring a well-defined path and outcomes.

Outcome of LPU Initiatives
  • Placement of 986 female graduates with a package ranging from 6 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA) to 54.75 LPA (INR).
  • LPU Chancellor announced 20 full scholarships for transgender students.
  • Lovely Professional University (LPU) announced a cash reward of ₹25 lakhs for Vinesh Phogat LPU student and the first Indian woman to reach the final of a wrestling event in the Paris Olympics 2024.
  • LPU’s woman boxer Lovlina Borgohain along with India’s six-member women’s boxing team exhibited its winning passion at the Asian Games 2023. She was a bronze medalist in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
  • First Open National Trans Persons’ Cricket Tournament hosted by LPU.
  • LPU-HRDC organized 139 training programs categorized into Academic Outreach Training Programs benefitting 1017 female participants and 861 male participants, In-house Faculty Development Programs benefitting 387 female participants and 591 male participants and Staff Development Programs benefitting 920 female participants and 958 male participants.
  • Department of Happiness and Counselling under the Division of Student Relationship organized 115 workshops/ webinars/ awareness sessions on various topics such as building strong interpersonal relationships, time management, emotional intelligence, work-life balance and 6785 individuals have participated in the activities conducted. Out of 6785 participants, 3333 (approximately 49%) were female and 3452 (approximately 51%) were male.
  • More than 1,050 university employees honored with LPU association awards @Sanidhya 2022-23.
  • Mark William Parsons Scholarship: Empowering Women in STEM awarded to exceptional female talent of LPU
  • Substantial increase of 27% in women enrolments in various academic programs of the university.
  • Simultaneous increase of 28% in the enrolment of first-generation female students in a diverse set of academic programs
  • LPU's female scientists featured in Stanford's top 2% of Scientists worldwide list.
  • A total of 357 Government and non-government projects undertaken by women faculty in the year 2022-23.
