Maternity Benefits

LPU aims to provide support and assistance to its staff members in order to ensure a comfortable and progressive workplace experience. Care is taken to provide due support to women staff members, their progression and amenities so that they are able to have a quality work life balance.

Maternity related Benefits

  • Women staff members employed for more than 3 months are entitled to a one month paid maternity leave.
  • Expecting Staff can take two extra breaks of fifteen minutes each daily in addition to entitled breaks.
  • Facility of having extra nutrition is provided at the allocated work place itself rather than using a lunch room.
  • Facility of a footrest, table and chair in class room for teaching and a more comfortable chair at the staff room.
  • Priority at all queues in the specific School/Division.
  • Exemption from the University Dress Code during maternity period.
  • Changes in Time table and/or floor/level of class rooms in consultation with concerned School (as per feasibility).
  • Mediclaim including C-Section upto Rs. 50,000 ensuring maximum assistance and reimbursement.
  • ESI facility to applicable staff (as per ESIC norms).
  • If the work assigned to an expecting female staff member is of such nature that she may work from home, the University may allow such staff for the same.
  • In-campus crèche facility where a staff can visit to take care of his/her ward for one hour every day.
  • Facility of PPW ( Pay Proportionate Work)

Paternity Benefits

LPU is committed to supporting and assisting its staff to ensure a positive and forward-thinking workplace environment. To support gender equality in childcare the University provides assistance to ensure that caregiving responsibilities are shared equally.

Paternity related Benefits

  • Paid/unpaid leave for non-gestational parents, allowing them to take time off from work to support the birthing parent and participate in early childcare.
  • In-campus crèche facility where a staff can visit to take care of his/her ward for one hour every day.
  • Flexible working hours options to adjust schedules for childcare purposes including Work From Home and Pay Proportionate Work (PPW).
