Shikshik Ashikshit

The concept of the artwork is all about “Quality Education”, which gives a sense of saving and protecting our environment and nature. The title is taken from Hindi language which pushes towards a long discussion about educated & uneducated society. Giving primacy to the idea of living standard and thinking of human beings only, is creating havoc in this man-made society. The style of living of human beings has been shown in this art project, which shows the nature of worldly behavior of humans. In this project artists are displaying their ideas through the idols made of ordinary clay, sitting in the green field and in the open sky. The displayed art objects which are in the form of animals, human beings and other still objects are made from the same material clay, but the symbolic nature and habit of both of them is just opposite to each other, showing the negative as well as positive nature. The animal and human being both are the consumers of the natural object of this earth, but in perspective toward giving to the earth humans are spoiling the earth. This project is showing the same effect, the first part is just opposite to the second one. The opposite angles of cameras manifest the importance of education, which gives a message to every human being save the environment and protect our nature. This phenomenon exhibits the gap between literate and illiterate. The women in the artwork symbolizes the earth.

In a vast country like India, in many parts of the country Education is not considered of prime importance. So, this project is sensitizing everyone that education helps the human being to save the environment as it helps to sharpen our vision. Humans can uplift their skills through education, they understand their limits, and tune themselves to remain in these limits. Moreover, through this project, a message of similarity has been floated.

For this project, the faculty and students of the Fine Arts with different specializations as applied painting, sculpture, photography and printmaking collaborated and contributed at various stages like planning, performance, installation, studio work and video editing.
