Covid-19 and Staff Care @LPU

At Lovely Professional University, we believe that human resources are our one of most vital and valuable resource, basis of which, the well being of the staff members is paramount to us. When it comes to staff care and well being especially during this era of Covid-19.

Steps taken include:

Awareness Drives and Sessions: Regular awareness sessions of staff are conducted covering varied topics ensuring the physical and psychological well being of the staff like sessions on hygiene practices, enhancing immune system, Covid-19 protocols and myths. At the onset of pandemic, medical teams were deputed for weekly medical checks of all individuals living, working or studying on the campus.
Psychological Counseling: In order to promote mental health & wellbeing, the University has a dedicated team of professional psychologists who cater to the counseling needs of staff members. The psychologists have been of major help especially amidst the Covid scare, thereby offering ways to lessen distress through such therapy.
24x7 Operational University Hospital and help lines: The Hospital of the university stays operational 24x7 with fully operational Quarantine and Isolation centers. Doctors are deputed as per various shifts. On campus ambulances ensure mobility in case of need and help Lines catering to medical assistance, psychological well being, ESI and mediclaim makes sure that no query of the staff is left unaddressed.

Health Coverage via ESI and Mediclaim of the staff members via Employee State Insurance (ESI) and Mediclaim as per applicability. All staff members not eligible for ESI are covered under Mediclaim (Rs. 1.5 Lacs) and personal accidental insurance (Rs. 1.5 lacs). The HR team ensures continuous liaising with the hospitals right from admission of a staff till his/ her discharge.

Ensuring essential commodities: In order to ensure that the faculty and staff stays motivated and puts in their best efforts towards academia, research and other spheres, provision of the basic and essential commodities during lockdown for campus residents was ensured.

Adherence to Covid-19 protocols in Letter and Spirit: The Covid-19 guidelines were adhered to as issued from time to time. Thorough sanitization at various areas and offices is undertaken regularly and  facility for hand sanitizers were provided liberally at offices, near washrooms, lift areas, pantry and public areas to name a few. Social distancing protocols are being followed in all areas. Adequate space is made available to staff members for distant seating and the option of work helps staff members to perform their tasks from the safety of their homes.

Vaccination of Staff Members: Prioritizing the safety of staff, , all eligible staff members of the University were provided with both the doses of vaccination including Covishield and Covaxin provided free to the staff members via various vaccination camps. The drives were carefully coordinated ensuring that Covid-19 precautions were duly considered. Even as of date, the University is looking forward to ensure that precaution dose is made available to all staff members at the campus itself.
