1. Regarding Unions and Labour rights
Lovely Professional University (LPU) is having a Relationship Management System which is an online module available by accessing University Management System (UMS) where the employees of the University can share their queries/suggestions/grievances related to any issue they are facing while working in the university. RMS is managed by the staff of the University and is having a facility of escalating the issue to higher level if the query/suggestion/grievance is not solved on time which generates a transparency of operations and time bound answering of the issue raised by the staff. RMS system is applicable to all staff members regardless of designation, gender, nationality and/ or any other factors.
In lime light of this there is no such trade union existing in the University and all staff members i.e Teaching, Technical, Administrative and Class IV can get their queries addressed on priority and transparently via the Relationship Management System.
Staff members of the University can submit their issues and requests including grievances, feedback, queries and suggestions. The RMS system ensures:
1. Effective time management as the staff movement between offices is reduced
2. Proper record of the grievance, feedback, queries and suggestions.
3. Transparency in the grievance redressal system.
4. Easy tracking of the status of the redressal of a staff member’s grievance online,

1.1 Timeline for Resolution of RMS
The Division of Human Resource has a query solving timeline for each cell / department of HR. Each RMS is bound to be replied within a given timeline which is usually around 4 days from the date of logging such complaint excluding Sundays and Holidays.
1.2 Escalation:
All those RMS’s which are not reverted within the given timeline by the dealing official(s) are escalated to the next level in the hierarchy i.e. to the head of the dealing official and even in case the same is not reverted within timeline by the concerned head, it is further escalated to next level to ensure that the staff gets an answer or resolution to his/ her query.
1.3 Mechanism to Log on to RMS:
A staff member may submit a RMS by following the link:
UMS Navigation --> Relationship Management System --> Log Request --> Select Message Type --> Select Department --> Select category --> Select Subcategory --> Enter description if grievance, feedbacks, queries and suggestions .
1.4 Time Slot for Staff Dealing
In addition to the RMS, the Division of Human Resource has a time slot for Staff dealing between 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm on daily basis for any kind of grievances / feedback , suggestion , request.
In case any staff member wishes to meet senior officials of Division of HR, the concerned HR officials shall be available from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm, on specified days.
1.5 Online Booking of Appointment
Staff members can visit Division of Human Resource to meet Dealing Official by prior booking of the appointment slot as per the following link:
UMS Navigation --> Administrative Tools --> Online Appointment System --> Request for appointment --> Select HR dealing Official --> Book slot
The RMS ticket number if any should be mentioned while booking the appointment.
1.6 Walk-in RMS
In case of urgent grievance a staff member may contact the dealing official by visiting Division of Human Resource and a “Walk-in RMS” of such staff member shall be entered in the system regarding the query of the staff.

2. Regarding Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining. The diverse staff members at Lovely Professional University possess a multitude of competency traits and are free to form, join, and participate in groups or organizations that promote mutual interests, including but not limited to, groups or organizations that are organized for academic, intellectual, sports, social, recreational, or cultural purposes. Each staff member is provided ample scope to represent his/her queries, suggestion and/or complaint through various hierarchical channels in a transparent manner via the OMS (Office Management System) where one can seek an appointment and interact with various University officials. The OMS system also has a provision for group appointments, thus making it easier for group of staff members to collectively put forth their words. Each appointment is duly recorded in the system with remarks of the appointment thus assisting in the collective bargaining.
