Staff Fee Waiver Policy

The Staff Fee Waiver Policy is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible staff members and their dependents, enabling them to pursue education at the University. This policy reflects the university commitment to supporting the personal and professional development of its employees, offering fee concessions for regular, online, and distance education programs.
The following policy outlines the scope, benefits, and conditions applicable to the fee waivers, effective from January 2025.

1. Applicability:

This policy applies to all staff members and their dependents enrolled in regular, online, and distance education programs starting from January 2025.

2. Benefits:

The benefits provided to staff and their dependents under the fee waiver scheme are outlined below:

Staff (0-5 years) - Self 50% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 60% combined waiver and scholarship 50% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 60%
Staff (5-10 years) - Self 50% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 60% combined waiver and scholarship 50% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 75%
Staff (10+ years) - Self 50% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 60% combined waiver and scholarship 75% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 90%
Staff (0-5 years) - Dependents 25% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 50% combined waiver and scholarship 25% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 50%
Staff (5-10 years) - Dependents 25% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 50% combined waiver and scholarship 50% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 75%
Staff (10+ years) - Dependents 25% waiver or additional 25% waiver, with a maximum of 50% combined waiver and scholarship 75% waiver + scholarship, with a maximum waiver of 90%
3. Applicable Period:

The revised fee waivers apply to fees due from Term 2 of the 2024-2025 academic session onwards, for both staff and their dependents. Excludes hostel, mess, and thesis fees.

4. Duration of Fee Waiver:

The fee waiver applies for the minimum/regular duration of the program, including PhD. For candidates admitted by August 2024, the following options are available:

  • Option 1: Continue with the old policy (waiver + scholarship up to 60%) for up to 4 years; thereafter, only the waiver will apply for up to 6 years.
  • Option 2: Opt for the new policy (waiver + scholarship) for up to 3 years; after this period, both waiver and scholarship benefits will end.
5. Service Slab Changes:

If a staff member's service slab changes (effective by December 31 or June 30), the new fee waiver benefits will apply from the next term.

Note:

Fee waivers do not apply to programs tied up with external agencies.
