With this vision, the University provides the necessary infrastructure, policies and procedures for staff and student welfare.
In Lovely Professional University Staff Welfare Framework & Student Support Systems is applicable to all its staff-teaching, administrative, ancillary and students with no basis of caste, creed, gender or religion. The scope intent is for continuous improvement of the quality of life of University staff and students

This framework is applicable to the staff members and students of Lovely Professional University (LPU). It is available to all staff members whether in regular or contractual employment of full time or part-time nature. All full time / part time students can avail this facility.
The University campus is a self-contained City in itself and offers a rich and diverse umbrella of conveniences and welfare amenities catering to all sections of staff and students including:
5.1. WELFARE MEASURES:
5.1.1. RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES:
LPU has a huge residential capacity for 25000+ staff, students and guests. Separate residential facility for teaching and non-teaching staff inside the campus with capacity of 200+ family accommodations, 300+ shared male and 150+ shared female staff accommodations and hostels for male and female students having 18000+ seats for male students and 5000+ for female students.
The University provides a safe, secure and homely environment to the staff and students from all states of India as well as international students from different countries inside the campus. The residential facility includes In-House messes, cafeterias, laundry, gym, sports and parking facilities. Residential services provide wide range of national and international cuisines. In addition to these various facilities are given to staff and students:

Experienced security staff deployed in all hostels to ensure 24x7x365 security.
Turnstile gates installed in residential blocks to track the in and out movement.
CCTV cameras are installed in the hostels to ensure the safety and security.

5.1.2. CRECHE, DAYCARE AND PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL
Lovely Professional University enables young parents to return to work stress-free by adopting a child-centric care and education philosophy. To ensure the best development of the child, the two must go hand in hand. University has Creche, Day-Care and Pre-Primary-school facility in- collaboration-with IVY-World-School for children of staff and students within-campus.
5.1.2.1 (i) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to Register for Creche Facility
To avail Creche facility, the staff/faculty/student shall visit the IVY Creche in Block 21-A and meet the concerned official for the admission formalities.
For registration, applicant must approach with Birth Certificate of child and two passport size photographs of Father/Mother, three relatives (to be called in emergency, if required) and caretaker (if required) to the dealing official of the Creche Facility.
Timings of Creche on all working days will be from 8.00am to 6.00 pm.
Any change in address, phone numbers etc. should be informed in writing immediately.
The child must carry food, pair of clothes and diapers (if applicable) in a bag. Only vegetarian food to be sent for the child.
Parents are requested to avoid sending the child to the Creche if he/she is suffering from any kind of infectious disease.
Lactating mothers can visit Creche to feed their baby as per protocols. Entry must be made in in the movement register of the respective Department and Creche.
5.1.3. SHOPPING-COMPLEX (UNI-CENTRE): A multi-storey air-conditioned shopping complex is available for staff and students. Uni-centre bears Departmental-store, Banks, bowling-alley, well-equipped gym, spa, food-courts, apparel outlet, lifestyle-accessories, electronic-gadgets (computer-laptops) and other related-services helping staff and students to meet their daily-needs right on campus. In-addition a wide variety of food-courts, cafes are available across campus. Farm fresh vegetables and fruits grown the University farms are also made available to the campus residents.
5.1.4. SPORTS FACILITIE available for staff and students with an indoor sports complex having Olympic size all weather-swimming pool, Warm up pool, Diving pool, State of the Art Gymnasium 18 Badminton, 1 basketball, 3 Volleyball, 6-Sqauash Courts; Shooting Range, etc. University also has outdoor stadium comprising of Cricket, Football, Hockey grounds, Tennis Courts, 9 Hole Golf Course, standard track etc. These facilities aim at holistic development of staff and students while encouraging comradie and teamwork.
5.1.5. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: Recreation facilities like Gyms, skating area, Bowling Alley and instructors for theater, dancing, singing, instrumental music etc. too are available on the campus for students and staff.
5.1.6. TRANSPORT FACILITIES: The University has deployed a fleet of 11 buses to ferry staff and students from towns within 80 kms of the campus. School-buses are facilitated to pick-and-drop children of staff and students residing in the Campus-Housing-Complex and studying in schools in the adjoining town areas.
5.1.7. BANKING FACILITY: Five full-fledged bank branches, more than 50 ATMs and a Govt. Post Office are available on the campus to provide safe and convenient banking facilities to students and staff.
5.1.8. FEE-WAIVER of 50% program-fee for self & 25% for dependents for studying in LPU is available since the inception of the University. More than Rs. 2-Crore has been waived off in last five years.
5.2. SOCIAL SECURITY AND HEALTH FACILITIES
5.2.1. Employees’ State Insurance Scheme coverage and benefits are applicable to staff members as per ESI Act 1948. Medical care for self and family, disablement benefit, dependents’ benefit, unemployment allowance, maternity benefit, sickness benefits are available under this scheme.
5.2.2. Employees’ Provident Funds Scheme coverage and benefits are applicable to the staff as per Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952. Staff members are entitled to tax benefits, life-long pension, insurance benefit and pre-mature fund withdrawal option.
5.2.3. Mediclaim-Policy-cover of Rs.1,50,000/- for all staff not-covered under ESI Act 1948.
5.2.4. Personal-Accident-cover of Rs.1,50,000/- for all staff members.
5.2.5. Maternity-Benefits and paid leaves as provided in rules for female-employees.
5.2.6. Dependent-benefit as Job-offer to one-eligible-dependent &100%-program-fee-waiver for children studying in LPU, for employees who die during active service.
5.2.7. Free Bus Service to the specially abled (Divyaang)
5.2.8. Campus Hospital with 30 beds and various specialists for internal medicine, eyes, heart, skin, dental and gynecology are available to provide free medical consultation to staff and dependents.
5.2.9. Free medical checkups camps by specialist-doctors are organized for staff and dependents.
5.2.10. Pathology Lab (Dr. Lal Pathlab) and 24-hours operational chemist shop including Ayush-outlet to supply generic medicines are available on the campus.
5.2.11. Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre: Free-consultation and a range of equipment are available on the campus to provide rehabilitation services at nominal-cost for students, staff and dependents.
5.3. RESEARCH AND CAREER ENHANCEMENT SUPPORT
5.3.1. Financial Support for Research of around 11-crores to faculty members to create research-eco-system in last five-years towards seed money, research awards, incentives, financial-assistance for attending conferences, workshops, seminars and professional memberships, University Scholarly Communication Grant for open-access-publications, monetary-benefits to principal-investigator of sponsored research projects, paid-leaves for international-fellowships, financial-aid in IPR-filing etc.
5.3.2. Research Extension Academic Leave is provided to encourage research initiatives by faculty. In the last 5 years, more than 5000 leaves have been provided.
5.3.3. Career Enhancement Leave is applicable to Staff members for participation in career- enhancement-activities like conference, workshops, seminars and pursuing higher qualification. In last 5 years, more than 6000 leaves have been provided.
5.3.4. Professional Development Programs are organized by the Human Resource Development Center for professional development and bridging the industry-academia gap. More than 900-Faculty Development Programs and 100-Staff Development Programs have been conducted by the University in last 5 years.
5.3.5. State of the Art Labs and Libraries are available to support the students and staff in teaching, learning and research.
5.4. ADDITIONAL ALLOWANCES
In last five years additional allowances aggregating around Rs.5-Crores have been disbursed among faculty members for shouldering administrative responsibilities like HOD, Training-placement, Academia-Industry-Interface etc. Laptop allowance of around Rs.30 Million to teaching faculty and Uniform-Allowance worth around Rs.5 Million have been disbursed in the last 5 years
5.5. EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE-STAFF-ENGAGEMENT:
5.5.1. Staff Activities: University organizes recreational, sports, cultural, co-curricular activities for staff throughout year. For-example Monthly-Birthday-Celebrations, Newly- wedded staff welcome ceremony, Biannual-celebration is organized for the staff who are blessed-with baby and presented with-gifts. Two Day Annual-event-"Sanidhya", is organized, where staff members are engaged in a host of activities including various fun-games, sports, cultural, co-curricular activities, pot-luck lunch etc. resulting in enhanced collegiality and identification with the University.
5.5.2. Annual Association Awards – Special recognition to staff-members on continued association of 5 / 10 / 15 years of service with the University. The staff members and their families are felicitated in person by the senior functionaries, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the organization. This involves a budget of approx.Rs.23 Lacs per annum.
5.5.3. ‘Share the Vision’ annual conference is a platform shared by University-management and staff for reviewing achievements of goals during the year and to discuss and create road- maps for future to realize the vision of the University.
