University has a dedicated Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cell with aim to achieve carbon neutral campus as per UN SDGs.

Pledge:
University pledged in 2016 to meet net zero emissions as per UN SDGs by 2029.

Responsibilities of SDG Cell:
SDG Cell serves as a central University coordinating body for promoting, integrating, and aligning activities towards achieving the SDGs that includes policy formulation, program development, data collection and analysis, monitoring progress, and reporting on the implementation of the SDGs. Some of the key roles of this cell are:

1. Policy formulation and integration of the SDGs.
2. Developing action plans and strategies for achieving the SDGs.
3. Coordinating and facilitating the implementation of SDG-related activities.
4. Promoting awareness for the SDGs among various stakeholders.
5. Conducting research and analysis on sustainable development issues.
6. Monitoring and evaluating progress towards the SDGs.
7. Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data on SDG indicators.
8. Identifying gaps and challenges in SDG implementation and proposing solutions.
9. Facilitating partnerships and collaboration among government, civil society, and private sector entities.
10. Capacity building and training programs on sustainable development.
11. Engaging with local communities and ensuring their participation in SDG efforts.
12. Supporting the localization of the SDGs at the sub-national and local levels.
13. Conducting awareness campaigns and public outreach activities.
14. Reporting on progress, achievements, and challenges in implementing the SDGs to relevant stakeholders, including the United Nations and other international bodies.
