Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency Services for industry
A. Energy audit and energy efficiency improvement of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation
One of the valuable responsibilities of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation is to provide potable water to the residence in the area of the Municipal Corporation and the major source is groundwater collected through tube wells.
Jalandhar Municipal Corporation assigned a task to the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Lovely Professional University to audit and suggest improving the energy performance of its tube well. The number of pumps critically analysed for energy consumption and energy-saving opportunities was 327.
Following important recommendations were made after analysing the data to reduce the energy losses:
(i) Power factor improvement
(ii) Replacement of pump impeller
(iii) Soft starter for underloaded motors
(iv) Regular service of motors
B. Workshop on Energy Conservation Code
Awareness Programme on Energy Conservation Code 2017 received active participation from professionals of PAN India. The program aimed at enabling architects, builders, and civil engineers to understand the ECBC 2017 building compliance approach. The participants were appreciative of the gesture shown by the University in terms of choice of Subject Matter Expert, appropriate learning environment, venue setting, infrastructure, study material and content delivery.
