Mentoring for Students:
Mentorship at Lovely Professional University (LPU) is guided by a philosophy that extends beyond academic instruction. It is a vital role of the faculty to provide emotional and instrumental support to students, enabling them to make informed and ethical life decisions. These mentorship guidelines, in effect since the Academic Year 2015-16, serve several objectives. They aim to help students adapt academically and socially to university life, foster trust and accountability between faculty and students, motivate and guide students towards achieving their learning objectives, generate interest in academics and institutional activities, and offer counseling at various stages of a student's journey. The program involves categorizing students based on their academic performance, allocating mentors through the Head of School, and implementing a structured mechanism to support both high and low-performing students. Psychological Well-being & Happiness Program:
The Department of Counseling & Happiness at Lovely Professional University recognizes the critical role of mental health in an individual's holistic development. The Psychological Well-being and Happiness Program they offer is tailored to enhance cognitive and behavioral aspects of a person's personality. Its main goal is to assist students in their transition to university life, enabling them to thrive in both academic and social settings. Through individual and group counseling, psychological testing, workshops, webinars, and unique approaches rooted in Positive Psychology, the program has positively impacted over 15,000 students. By providing timely support and access to experts through online platforms like YourDOST, setting up psycho-neurobics labs and meditation centers, the program has created an environment where students can develop holistically and actively engage in various aspects of campus life, preparing them for the practicalities of life beyond the university's confines.

Buddy Program for Staff:
The Buddy Program at Lovely Professional University is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing the experience of new joiners during their initial six months of employment. It serves to provide guidance and support to these individuals, helping them become more comfortable, reduce ambiguity, and gain a better understanding of the University's operations. Buddies, who are experienced staff members, play a crucial role in this process by offering advice, sharing knowledge resources, and introducing new employees to the University's culture. They are responsible for answering questions, identifying workplace resources, and familiarizing new employees with the University's norms and guidelines. Buddies are selected based on specific criteria, including their experience, performance history, communication skills, and compatibility with the new employee. Transport Facilities: A fleet of buses is available for commuting staff and students from towns within an 80-kilometer radius of the campus. Additionally, school buses pick up and drop off the children of staff and students residing on campus.

LPU has multiple bank branches, over 50 ATMs, and a government post office on campus, providing safe and convenient banking services for students and staff.
Fee Waiver: LPU offers a fee waiver of 50% for staff and 25% for their dependents studying at the university, resulting in significant savings.
Social Security and Health Facilities:
Employees' State Insurance Scheme:
Staff members benefit from coverage under the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Scheme, providing medical care, disablement benefits, unemployment allowances, maternity benefits, sickness benefits, and more.
Mediclaim Policy:
All staff not covered under the ESI Act have access to a Mediclaim policy with coverage of Rs. 1,50,000.
Personal Accident Cover:
Staff members receive personal accident coverage of Rs. 1,50,000.
Maternity Benefits: Female employees receive maternity benefits and paid leave as per rules.
Dependent Benefits: Job offers are extended to eligible dependents, and a 100% program fee waiver is provided for children studying at LPU if employees pass away during active service.
Financial Aid- Need-based Scholarship: With a view to facilitate access to higher education for individuals who belong to specific categories and whose annual family income is below a certain limit, LPU offers financial aid.
