Mental Health Support For Students And Faculty/Staff

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is deeply committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of its students and faculty/staff by offering free access to a range of counseling and therapeutic services. These services provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to express their feelings, process emotions, and develop coping strategies to navigate challenging times effectively. Central to these efforts is LPU’s Counselling & Happiness Cell, a dedicated unit that addresses the behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs of the student community.

LPU's Counselling & Happiness Cell is dedicated to promoting the holistic growth of students and staff by providing a supportive environment to address emotional and psychological well-being. The cell offers a range of services, including individual and group counseling sessions conducted in strict confidence. To promote mental health awareness, workshops, seminars, and hostel activities are regularly organized. Students and staff can seek counseling voluntarily or through referrals from faculty, wardens, friends, or family members.

Situated in Building 8, Room No. 208, the cell offers free counseling services to students, staff, and faculty. The services provided aim to address a broad spectrum of concerns, ranging from academic pressures to personal challenges, ensuring that every individual has the support they need to thrive in both their personal and professional lives.

Days of Operation:
  • Monday to Saturday: Counseling services are available from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., ensuring ample time for individuals to seek help throughout the week.
  • Sunday: The department remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing continued support even on weekends.

Individual Counselling

Conducted in a private and confidential setting in Block 8, Room 208, these one-on-one sessions with qualified mental health professionals allow students and staff to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. The Counseling & Happiness Cell has been actively engaged in creating a supportive environment within the university. The department has conducted a total of 115 activities, which have been instrumental in reaching out to a wide audience. These activities have successfully covered 6,688 participants, making a significant impact on the community's well-being. Moreover, the department has provided personalized counseling to 5,153 clients, offering them the guidance and support needed to navigate their individual challenges. Each session is tailored to address the specific concerns of the clients, ensuring that they receive the most appropriate care and advice.

Brahma Kumari Shivani (Sister BK Shivani) visited Lovely Professional University (LPU), where she inaugurated a ‘Meditation Centre’ at LPU for the Department of Counseling & Happiness of the university. The center is to guide many thousands of students and staff members at LPU Campus.
