Through regular dialogue, LPU identified social problems, shared goals, academic strengths, and resources. By collaborating, we create a synergy that fosters effective, sustainable solutions for pressing global challenges outlined in the SDGs, such as poverty, education, health-care, environmental sustainability, and social equality. LPU provides research-based evidence and analytical skills, enabling NGOs to develop evidence-driven strategies and impactful programs. In return, NGOs has offered LPU valuable access to real-world issues and contexts, grounding academic research in practical applications. This collaboration not only enriches academic pursuits but also ensures that solutions are culturally sensitive, contextually relevant, and genuinely address the needs of communities, making progress towards achieving the SDGs more tangible and achievable.
LPU-NSS Wing has students that has formed many clubs which are consistently engaged in volunteering of activities for social good by participating in community service projects, internships, and volunteer programs facilitated by NGOs, students gain practical insights into the challenges faced by marginalized communities. They contributed their time, energy, and skills toward initiatives ranging from education and healthcare to environmental conservation and poverty alleviation. Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE)
RAWE is Student READY Program that provides exposure to agricultural students to the natural setting and village situations, allows them to work with the farm families, identify their problems, and make use of various extension tools for transferring the latest agricultural technologies. RAWE programme is aimed at providing an opportunity to the students to understand the rural setting in relation to agriculture and allied activities. It helps the students to get familiarised with the socio-economic conditions of the farmers and their problems. The students learn to develop communication skills using extension teaching methods to facilitate interaction and transfer of technology besides imparting diagnostic and remedial knowledge relevant to the real-life situations.
Village Adoption Programme under Community Development Project
This course is offered to students after the first year. The basic course objectives associated with this course include identification of the issues related to community development and to find solutions for improvement; developing skills to promote unique ideas among the public; and aiming to originate substantial and sustainable development that brings about difference in the community at large. Students can complete the community development project with some Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or local organization(s) working on some community development areas and allowing physical reporting within the organization
Cleaning Sutlej River
LPU NCC is dedicated to community service,
organizing impactful programs for awareness and action in association with villages and local bodies. On the eve of Earth Day, NCC cadets planted trees and cleaned the Satluj River as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
University have led the path uptaking the social responsibility to engage with their local communities, by collaborating with local, regional, national bodies both NGO and Governmental, to organize awareness campaigns, workshops, and seminars, universities can educate the public about sustainable living practices. The essentail aim of community outreach programs was to address challenging sustainable issues such as clean energy, water conservation, waste management, and environmental conservation.
