Scope

The framework of the participation of local external stakeholders in various committees and councils should be as per the compositions provided by the concerned Govt. bodies/University or others and must be implemented as per their guidelines and procedures. The framework is extended to all the stakeholders to provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institution at all levels. To promote peaceful and justiciable environment in terms of academics and societal nature, University should follow the procedures to identify the local external stakeholders of different fields.

Objectives

1. Identification of local external members for their involvement in various bodies and committees
2. Taking benefit of the expertise of external members academically and socially
3. To develop Student Relationship Management to the next level
4. To promote and enforce non-discriminatory laws and policies for sustainable development.

Framework

To ensure compliance with the provisions of Regulations as well as the provisions of any law, University must form various required committees and councils. These committees and councils must be responsible for planning, co-ordination, development, oversight, validation and review of the various aspects of the university in terms of academics, managerial issues, extra co-curricular activities, admissions, examination, Research, safety, justice and others for the overall development of each stakeholder. For the accomplishment of the above, higher order of the expertise is required. University itself has many experts of different areas but for the better and real-life experience, University must involve some external stakeholder from different areas. For example; a person from industry can better explain the latest technologies and its use, so that, accordingly curriculum can be designed.

In view of the above, it is required to identify/select such persons from different fields and areas for various committees and councils i.e., Anti-Ragging Committee, Student Grievances Redressal Committee, CDRC, Academic Council, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and others which are required. Identification/selection of such stakeholder must fulfil the requirement of above- mentioned committees and councils as per their defined compositions. Identification of a person from a particular field is mentioned below which is subjective in nature:

1. A person from Industry, corporate, media;
2. A person from local civil community, society, trusts, clubs;
3. A person from academics from reputed institution;
4. A person from local Government;
5. Alumni
6. NGOs
7. Others as per the requirement

While selecting these members, several precautions need to be taken care:
1. It is advisable to choose persons from different backgrounds as mentioned above who have earned respect for their integrity and excellence in their respective areas. Moreover, they should be aware of the ground realities of the institutional environment.
2. The local civil community, society, trusts, clubs’ representatives should be of a high social standing and should have made significant contributions to society and to education, in particular.
3. They should be aware of the University’s objectives, strengths and limitations, and should be committed to its improvement.
