LPU’s Incredible India Program

Our International Incredible India Programs is a combination of learning as well as cherishing beautiful experiences of cultural diversity of India. The main aim of the program is to promote internationalization and to give the participating students a taste of Indian culture along with learning of management and technical courses. We at LPU will make sure that the students yield a memorable experience from the entire program. It is a well balanced 2 weeks camp which is full of knowledge. It introduces to you, various technical/Management concepts, Indian fashion style, Indian cooking, Indian social fabric, Yoga, basic survival Hindi, awareness events, trips to various places of historical importance in India and other small yet mesmerising experiences every day.

Our International Incredible India Programs blend learning with cultural immersion. Over two weeks at LPU, students will explore Indian culture through fashion, cooking, yoga, and basic Hindi while studying management and technical concepts. The program includes awareness events, historical site visits, and daily engaging activities, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience.

Visa requirements and guidelines
  • Foreign Nationals desirous of coming into India are required to possess a valid passport of their country and valid Indian Visa .The only exceptions are nationals of Nepal and Bhutan who can enter India without a visa. (Note: Nepalese nationals need a visa if entering India from China).
  • To study in India it is mandatory for an international student to procure Indian Student Visa or 30 days e-visa
  • Visa can be applied in person or by post in designate High Commissions/Embassies.
  • Also, if you have entered India on the basis of documents provided by the university then it is your responsibility to ensure that you directly join and report to the University .The Visa endorsed on the name of the university or obtained on the basis of University documents cannot be used for any other purpose like employment, admission to any other university/college/institute/academy etc. or for non-regular (distant/online) mode of education.
  • After reaching the university students have to get the visa verified by the university and have to deposit a copy of valid visa.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that throughout his/her study period student is on valid visa.
  • In case the initial visa is not endorsed for the complete duration of the programme or student has to extend the stay because he/she is not able to complete the programme in the stipulated time then the student should apply for the extension of the visa at least 60 days before visa expires.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the visa should be applied well in advance and time .It generally takes 3-8 weeks to get the Indian visa thus it is advisable to apply for the visa accordingly and consult the Indian High Commission/Embassy if required.
  • Students joining the university after the prescribed time period may be denied admission .In such cases the fees etc .deposited by the applicant would be forfeited and further no claim for the expense made for the travelling, visa or any other expense made or hardship suffered by the student will be entertained.

Where should I book my ticket to?

Tickets should be booked to either Amritsar or Chandigarh airport. While New Delhi is India's largest international airport with extensive global connectivity, it also offers many connecting flights to both Amritsar and Chandigarh.

Which is the nearest airport where there are direct flights from UK?

Nearest Airport would be Shree Ram Das Jee International Airport, Amritsar

Are there many connecting flights from New Delhi airport to Amritsar airport?

Yes, there are many connecting flights from Delhi to Amritsar airport.

If there are other routes from where I can book my flight directly to Amritsar?

Yes, Amritsar is an International Airport and there are many direct flights from countries like Malaysia, Dubai, Qatar, Indonesia Etc.

If there are any Pick up facility from Amritsar airport?

Would I need to get the medical insurance even before joining the university?

Yes, it is mandatory to get your medical insurance for the complete duration of the program.

What currency is acceptable in India and if I have to get it exchanged in what currency should I bring money. Is there any money exchange inside the university?

In India the currency being used is Indian National Rupee (INR). You can bring the Sterling Pounds or USD which can be exchanged either at Airport or in the University Campus.

Does the university campus have ATM and if the International Debit/Credit cards are accepted in India and campus?

Yes, there are close to 50 ATMS within in the university campus and almost all of them accept the VISA, MasterCard and Maestro powered cards. Though there are regulation to withdraw amount up to certain limit only on daily basis. We also have Western Union Branch at our campus for exchange. Pre-paid credit cards also acceptable at the ATM’s but for that you should have International Withdrawal approved from your bank.

What are the documents that I should carry when I land that is required to be handy for the immigration purpose at the Airport?

Can I Purchase such items like Snacks, Souvenir, Books, and Stationary etc. from the university campus?

University has a full-fledged shopping mall in the university campus itself and you can purchase most of the products on the campus itself.

What medical facilities are available on campus?

We have on campus Hospital which works 24*7.

What if I arrive in India or travel to India before program?

If you arrive prior to the scheduled date then you will have to reach the university campus on your own and you can stay in university hotel at additional cost.

What is the temperature or weather condition in the city where LPU is located?

Summer in northwestern India runs from April to July, while in the rest of the country, it spans March to June, with temperatures exceeding 35°C (95°F) and often reaching over 40°C (104°F) by July. Winter lasts from December to February in the northwest and from November to February elsewhere, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F) and lows occasionally dropping below 5°C (41°F).

What kind of clothes should I carry with me?

Light, comfortable cotton clothing is ideal for summer, while warmer layers are recommended for winter. While packing, please consider Indian traditions. The environment is not strictly formal, but it is also not entirely casual, so attire should reflect a balanced approach.
