Lovely Professional University organized Personal Contact Program (PCP) for its Distance Education (DE) students at university campus. Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Science, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences and Arts. Classes pertaining to 170 courses were engaged by more than 100 LPU faculty members.

Thousands of students from towns, cities and remote villages of Punjab including Ludhiana, Batala, Amritsar, Patiala,  Bassi Pathana, Tanda Urmar, Bathinda,  Banga, Budhlada, Moga, Sahnewal, Raikot, Sunam, Anandpur Sahib, Mohali, Pathankot and more interacted with subject-expert faculty members of LPU for face to face academic counseling sessions.

One of the participants to the PCP, MCA 2nd year distance education student Manpreet Kaur from Jhabbal (Tarntaran) shared: “We are completely satisfied the way PCP classes and other allied activities are conducted for distance education students at LPU campus. PCP classes are   useful for each of the students and most important for the students like me who have to clear certain doubts about relevant subject topics. After attending PCP, I am now more confident about my success in final examinations.  I want to further say that students like me are thankful to the benevolent management of India’s largest university LPU which has chalked out affordable quality higher education for both underprivileged and aspiring students.”

Like PCP, LPU also provides varied opportunities to its DE students to participate in mega events of the university vis-a-vis its regular students. Getting equal chances, DE students keep on proving their mettle in such organizations. In fact, distance education students never feel that they are devoid of on campus education and personality developing participations. No doubt the ushering era is an era of digital learning, yet campus life has its own charm for the mesmerizing development of a student. So, LPU specially plans PCPs and other extra-curricular participations for distance education students in equivalence to their regular counterparts.
Illustrative, LPU distance education students have made many achievements at the campus. In the recent past they got 1st as well as 3rd position in Group Folk Dance, and 3rd position in Fine-Art event during Inter School Cultural Fest ‘Spectra 2015’ of the university. They were also declared 1st in Greeting Card Making as well as in Heena-making, and 2nd in Karigiri during LPU Global Youth Fest ‘Youth-vibe 2015’. Above all, amid 30,000 regular students, they got 2nd Runners-up position in Global mega-event ‘One World’ for representing and displaying the culture of Sudan.
